Well, here we are again in rain season. How do I know that? Because every time NCC plans a show we get RAIN!!
Even with the rain we had a good show and get fun with each other laughing about the endless rain on our Parades.. We had a pretty good show slated, but
when the rain set in Bob and Katie along with Sigred couldn't get out with their horses. Neither could Cathy
Coker. But not to have our spirits rained upon we donned our buckets cleaned up the arena and away
we went with the show. Since when we called our judge, Lee Ann Alf, she was almost already in Newkirk, we decided to go on with the show. So with buckets in hand away we went....
Special thanks to our bucket brigade of Rainee, Susan Rush, Natalie, Raelene and Mike. Without all of us there wouldn't have been any show at all.
And I almost forgot to mention Perry Badley for raking out all of the rough spots so that we could go ahead and start. Thanks to all of you, you made YOUR show a success!
Even with the bad weather
and people not being able to get out we still had 8 horses to ride. It was really quite nice after Perry raked it all flat. Oh and a real big THANK YOU to Rick Boyd who worked all evening Friday getting weeds and grass out of the arena. Now you didn't see much of Rick
on Saturday because he threw his back out doing it and was in the house on crutches. Joanna Dickison jumped in and cooked the hamburgers in the house and they were GREAT!!
We really were hungry after all of that bailing. Now not every club has bonding moments like that one, but our group came through just like they always have and get the job done. We did start the show rather late
though. We were supposed to start at 10 but then we decided 12 might let the arena dry some, but we really didn't get started until around 1pm. This might have been Natalie Goodwin's last show with Russkie and the NCC. Natalie, her mom & dad are moving to
Madison Wisconsin. NONE of us are happy about that and they will GREATLY be missed. We do however wish them good luck in their move. We would however like to have them back every summer from now on since they are such a big part of the NCC family. You guys will be missed more than you will ever know.
Our next rain date hahahahaha I mean show date is June 21st and Lyn Francik is going to be our judge. Lyn has just recently finished
the "L" judges program and we are happy that she could come and judge for us in Newkirk. We are going to be having a used tack sale at the June 21st show,
the contact person for the tack sale is our own Cowpa Mayne, known to those of you who don't know him well as Robert Mayne of Deer Creek. Contact Bob anyway you want or even Rainee and just let us know what you are wanting to consign to the sale. We will be happy to help you sell your stuff for a small fee of 10% for the
NCC.
We also have a new Website up thanks to Jeanie Eaton. Look for the link on the ODS website. Anyone who registers with the website can post things on it and make comments on it. Come on let's use this thing. If this works well for us I can see it as a good
learning tool.
In July they are having the horse, dog, and mule
races in Anthony, Kansas. Bob, Katie, Rick and
myself are going and would like to invite all of you to come along. It really is great fun. You can bet on them and just have a great time.
Look for more up and coming things on the new NCC
Website.... http://www.ncc.dressageoklahoma.org/
Come with us and have a great time. You can even come incognito with your sunglasses on and no one will even know your there.
Happy Transitions
